Involved in cinema projects since early age, Ochoa’s first contact with the seventh art came at the age of ten as an actor and musician in the short film Minueto, directed by Santiago Choliz. After that, he composed music for several short films and commercials and won the Kino Award for the best soundtrack for Aritz Parra’s Sherip.

Evocation 2015 marks Juan J. Ochoa’s debut as a film maker. Departing from the music of the spanish composer Isaac Albeniz, Evocation reflects the desire and the inspiration of an artist in a piece that blurs the boundaries between music, dance and cinema. It was presented under the short film category at several international festivals, such as the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (South Korea), the Sao Carlos Video Dance Festival (Brazil), and awarded with an honourable mention at the Short Waves Film Festival (Poland)
